4. September 2010: Ristorante Sans Égal

| September 10, 2010 | 0 Comments

The Ristorante Sans Égal is located in the Brera area of Milan which is basically the artsy part. It is reachable by a little footwalk from the Duomo or by public transportation like the metro (green line; stop: Lanza).

In its vicinity are quite few good places to eat out: The Gelateria Amorino, Trattoria Tore di Pisa, Ristorante Sibilla, Obika’ Brera, Ristorante New Art Café, Ristorante Lo Strapuntino, the Osteria dei Poeti, or the Pizzeria Malastrana Rossa.

The restaurant looks nice from the outside as it has a little covered patio all around the restaurant where you can sit outside and eat. The little shortcomming though is that it is located right next to the street and therefore it’s not really a “private” place.

The menu to choose from is quite good and in general also decent in prices.

I’ve had “Pasta al Salmone” as a starter which was quite okay in taste. The pasta was a bit overcooked but the sauce was good.

As a main dish I’ve had “Arrosti Misti” which were several kinds of meat plus potatoes. Not bad really, but somewhat also not too persuading.

The service is very friendly and tries to be helpful at all times. As we were sitting outside the waitress wasn’t there all the time but we managed to order by sign-language through the glass windows – and it worked.

All in all, the Ristorante Sans Égal is a nice place to go if you want to have an easy-going lunch. The food is okay, the place is okay if you sit at the far corner and not right next to the entrance, the service is friendly and good in general plus the prices are decent for the food.
