30. January 2011: Restaurant Bertschi’s Casa Bar

| January 31, 2011 | 1 Comments

Cold smoked and grilled beef NY-Style with “house sauce” and bread. The smoked beef is a real delight and enjoyment. It tastes great in combination with the house sauce and although at first it doesn’t look like much the portion of 250 gr (X-Large; CHF 38.00) is quite filling. The tenderness of the meat is great, the only little shortcoming – from my point of view – is the piece of fat in the middle. Not a necessity really. Otherwise, the beef is just great. Really nothing to complain there!

A glass of Pinot Grigio costs CHF 7.00, a Nespresso Doppio CHF 6.80 – both fair prices for what you get. The atmosphere of the place is really nice as the whole thing is actually old wood but painted with white color which gives it this really special, nice atmsophere. Definitely recommendable to go there!

The service is really friendly and helpful (I’ve asked for the name of the CD that was played and she brought it within seconds).

Overall, the Restaurant Bertschi’s Casa Bar is a really nice location with friendly personnel, great dishes (the smoked beef is the house’s specialty which should be tried) and fair prices.

It is easily reachable as it is in the Niederdorf by either tram 4 or 15 (stop: Rathaus) or on foot (800 meters from the main station). In its vicinity are a bunch of bars and restaurants like the La Bodega Española, the Andorra Bar, the Kafi Schoffel (23. September 2010 / 3. November 2010), the Rathaus Café, the Restaurant Rheinfelder Bierhaus “De bluetig Duume”, the Restaurant Santa Lucia Niederdorf, the Oliver Twist Pub, the Edi’s Weinstube, and the Gran Café Motta.
