25. November 2010: Ristorante Santa Lucia Corso
The Ristorante Santa Lucia Corso is situated at Bellevue in Zurich and is therefore easily reachable by various means of public transportation. It belongs to the Bindella group which owns several restaurants in Zurich like the Restaurant Santa Lucia Niederdorf, or the Ristorante Contrapunto. In addition, there are quite a few other restaurants around Bellevue like the Restaurant Yooji’s, the Restaurant Outback Lodge, the Restaurant Globus am Bellevue, or the Restaurant Brasserie Schiller.
The Ristorante Santa Lucia Corso has a pretty nice interior design. It’s not really special somehow but because it’s spacious and bright, and you can have a look into the kitchen where the pizzaiolo makes the pizzas, it has a pretty appealing side.
The waiters are friendly and pretty quick for the fact that it’s quite crowded around lunch time. Also, you have to know you can’t make reservations for lunch but you have to just go and hope to get a table. Usually not a problem if you’re just two, but if you’re more it can get tricky.
They offer the regular menu as well as three business lunch menus and a pizza for every day. I went for the second option which is a menu salad as a starter which was pretty normal – just some green salad with cucumbers and carrots with boring Italian salad sauce.
As a main course I’ve had tuna fish cubes with saffron risotto and eggplants. The tuna fish was great, the risotto was very tasty and the eggplants were pretty okay too.
For the salad, I’d say 2 stars, for the tuna and risotto 4 stars, which makes 3 in total for the food. The price is pretty decent too, accounting for CHF 24.00 for both together.
All in all, the Ristorante Santa Lucia Corso is a great place if you like to go for a quick lunch and eat pretty good food for a fair price.
